The value of fd, similarly nd, is usually not very high and can usually be approximated using a simple weighing method . . .
In a two-dimensional domain, the maximum shear stress in the shear traction is given by  (3.5) where μ is the apparent shear modulus calculated using the standard manual Winkler's method .
