I have opted for the velcro because the Pack-It-Box velcro system is a thick, reliable system that worked well for me when I packed the bike for the first time. I am not sure how thick it is though.
The frame first. I have decided to take the best of the two approaches, a velcro approach, and actually re-attach the frame to the bag itself. Rather than taking the more traditional approach of re-packing the Brompton in foamboard and then the foamboard in the bag, or wrapping the frame with duct tape, I have opted for a velcro solution. I figure that this might help prevent damage to the frame and also means that the frame can be removed easily for more convenient storage or transport and re-attached easily to the bag when ready to use.
The best part of this bag was it's uniqueness and individuality. The bag may not be pretty but it is very well made with a great quality soft-touch leather. The stitching is clean and neat and the closing mechanism is well thought out.
Some of the contents were a little obvious - the cash and cards went in the main compartment. I put my Oyster in there too. The money was neatly arranged into 3 main dividers and the cards between them. Even when closed the bag looked a bit messy but it was not an unattractive mess. That's what I like about these bags, they look a bit untidy when packed but once it is unpacked they look almost neat.
